Baseball Musings

Hey, Batter, Batter! How is your favorite baseball team (American, National, Mexican, Fantasy League or otherwise!) faring thus far?

The Phillies just beat the Mets. That is nine in a row against them. It was the first time that the Phillies ever won a Shea opener. They had lost the Shea opener 8 times.
How is Baltimore on a roll and the Tigers winless? We thought the O's had no offense and the Tigers had an unbeatable lineup.

Nice picture Rosie.

I decided to change the pic. It might have been offensive to someone.

The Drake & I are currently experiencing technical difficulties watching the YES Network. It's like a big tease: sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not. VERY FRUSTRATING!

We're currently stuck listening to the not-so-dynamic duo of Sterling and Waldman on CBS Radio, 880AM. Ugh!

I feel like Dire Straits: I want my YES Network!

The Twins are about what I expected: good in moments, pretty weak overall. They can't score runs consistently, and the rotation is spotty. KC is decent, and the White Sox can score runs, so the Twins will be fighting to stay out of the bottom of the division.

My Penal League team is bad. The offense will be better -- Posada won't be hurt all year (right, Yankee fans?) -- but the pitching is terrible. Kevin Millwood (KEVIN MILLWOOD!!) is my best starter. He and Nick Blackburn (?) are the only ones with an ERA under 6 right now. There are some good teams in the league though. The top 4 teams in the league right now are really strong.

So the Yanks have scored 25 runs in 9 games. Think about that and then think about the guys in this lineup. I know Jeter and Posada are out (and frankly this dead arm thing makes me nervous) but we still have A-Rod, Abreu, Cano, Matsui, Damon, Giambi, etc. Where are the runs?!?!?!

This Red Sox series should be interesting especially if the Sox can continue to pitch Dice-K what seems like every other day.

We've officially canceled our extended sports package from Direct TV. After two nights of calling, the operator finally admitted that we weren't likely to get the Yankee games on YES, unless we forked out for MLB Extra Innings.

I'm very, very irked that we ordered the package, thinking we were getting the YES Network and it turns out to be false because were "out of area". Out of area? Then why can we tune into CBS Radio 880AM? Riddle me that!
